The wide spectrum that we call India has many facets to it both topographically as well as culturally. What's amazing about India is that in spite of the millions of tourists who have descended on its shores over the years, its tradition, culture and heritage are vigorously alive even today. Head straight for Goa if you are on the look out for exotic Beach Destinations in India. Goa has some of the exclusive beaches which have also been featured in National Geography. Anjuna, Calangute, Marina, and Baga beach are frequented at all points of the year. Some of these beaches are dangerous for their rock formation and heady surfs while others like Anjuna are perfect for a quick dip. A number of hotels have mushroomed in these areas taking a queue from the huge influx of tourists. Open air cafes, sea food shacks, flea markets and spas are located at regular intervals for the tourists. The local cuisine and the carefree songs of the hippies further accentuate the aesthetic value of these beaches. Dona Paula beach is a favorite haunt of the romantic couples and oft in a star studded night with its statue of the two lovers it looks out of the world.
These palm fringed beaches are categorized into three areas- Light house, Hawah and Samudra. They are apt for water sports, sun basking and bathing. What strikes you most about these beaches is the water color- a deep azure to be sure! Go further on to the South to Pondicherry if you want a more spiritual sojourn. This calm and quiet beach is quite unlike its Western counterparts of the Beach Destinations in Goa.

Much of the Andaman beaches still remain unexplored. But that is the main charm of the place. You feel like venturing in the unknown much like Robinson Crusoe when he was ship wrecked on an Island. The more popular beaches like Jolly Buoy are famed for water sports and under water activities like skinny dip, diving and snorkeling. Some beaches like the Puri beach, Gopalpur, Chandipore beach are not that popular with foreign tourists as they are not promoted like the others. But they are fabulous if you have a laidback vacation in mind at an economical budget. They are well accessible from West Bengal, Bihar and Orissa.
